Hello everyone and so many thanks for making Series 1 of my brand new podcast “Ginger Gerald you lucky barstard” such a success story so far! I´ve certainly had a blast putting the weekly shows together and I really hope that you’ve found them useful, insightful and of course entertaining. The objective of the pod is to share with you the genuine, nitty gritty, reality of living overseas based on my 25 plus years of life experience living in 7 countries and on 3 continents! I´ve just had a quick flick back at what we´ve covered so far and can´t quite believe it: we´ve explored Decision day, how to make friends (or not), holidays, paperwork, schools and even swimming pool maintenance and my addiction to weeding! But my very favourite show was the series closer last week called “Spilling the T” when I invited my wife T to give her perspective on our shenanagins over the years - and I know it brought tears of sadness and laughter to many of you.
But Series 1´s behind us now and Series 2 is already on its way – beginning this Thursday (always on a Thursday, don´t ask me why) when we´ll be discussing driving overseas. I´ve a load of new and exciting topics to explore during this new series, like Christmas overseas, how do International families remain close, Sports as a way of breaking into tight knit communities and the ups and downs of life as parent of a talented sportsperson. And we´ll be comparing the then and the now – what changes do we see and feel when we return to somewhere we once lived.
We´re going to mix up the format a bit this series too and include more and more input from guests and invitees – providing, of course, that they add value to the show and help Ginger Gerald to enrich your life!
So I am sure I can count on you all to keep this pod going – please keep listening in and spreading the word – ask your mates and colleagues to give it a try and if they like what they hear then they just need to follow or subscribe – it´s absolutely free (and you can´t say that about many things these days!) So here´s to the Series2 of GGYLB! Speak to you soon. Bye!
